Senior Software Engineer – Ultra Low Latency Risk Engine Developer, Vice President

About the role

Design, develop, and optimize Citi's ultra-low-latency risk engine for cash equities, including real-time pre-trade checks, position limits, and exposure controls integrated into the electronic execution platform. Lead technical architecture and delivery, improve performance and resiliency across the trading hot path, and mentor engineers while coordinating with global teams. Requires 10+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on development of latency-critical risk, position-keeping, or trading systems in cash equities, and strong expertise in Java and/or C++ (Rust is a plus). Candidates should also have experience with high-throughput messaging, distributed event-driven systems, Linux and hardware-level performance tuning, automated testing, and cross-regional collaboration; a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is specified.
